Reel begins with cuts. Interviews with runners and spectators about why runners with no chance of winning compete in the race. Footage of the winner from the previous year, Olavi Suomalainen, with his laurel wreath and trophy. Silent b-roll footage of runners in various places along the race route. Edited story taken from the above footage. Reporter standup, interview with runners and spectators, and silent footage of runners during the race. Goes back into cuts with footage of runners preparing at the starting line. Mix of silent and sound.
