Description:
Fire in progress in South Boston near Dorchester Street and West Broadway. Boston Fire Department ladder trucks arrive with sirens. Flames visible in alley between buildings. Firefighters carry hose, raise ladder. Cameraman kicks open front door of apartment house. Several residents of adjacent building evacuate (not moving urgently). Bystanders crowd on sidewalk. Black smoke issues from roof. Firefighters on roof three stories up. Firefighter breaks upper windows with hatchet. Much apparatus. Boston Health and Hospitals ambulance.
