Every year the Hasty Pudding Theatricals of Harvard University present awards to performers. They have been naming a Woman of the Year since 1951, and a Man of the Year since 1967. Over the years many wonderful people have been honored, and we have digitized content of awards ceremonies and press conferences with 5 winners throughout the 1970s and 80s. These winners are:
Carol Channing as Woman of the Year, 1971
Jimmy Stewart as Man of the Year, 1971
Ella Fitzgerald as Woman of the Year, 1982
Lucille Ball as Woman of the Year, 1988
Robin Williams as Man of the Year, 1989

Each of them has something heartfelt, sometimes solemn and sometimes hilarious, to say upon the occasion. The charm and personality that makes the performers worthy of these awards really shines through.
