East Boston Technical School

Description: Modern exterior of East Boston Technical School. Shop room, red lockers, wall cases for fire hose and extinguishers, new lab benches, cabinets, sinks. Headmaster tells how building was originally designed, furnished and equipped to be new Barnes Middle School, but revised court order for next phase of desegregation mandated a technical and vocational curriculum for grades 7-12. School will specialize in computers, environment, electronics, medical and aviation training, in partnership with MIT and Massport.
