Bill Baird

Description: Bill Baird press conference on concerns over abortion clinic bombings and fighting back against them. He describes the types of demonstrations by antiabortion groups and the effects they have on the women who use those clinics. He proposes a "demilitarized zone" between the protesters and the women using the clinics, so that they can continue to receive treatment without being physically abused. He describes interstate efforts of pro-choice groups to analyze the attacks. He expresses anger with the FBI's lack of attention, refusal to classify the attacks as terrorism, and the institutionalized sexism of law enforcement agencies. He says that many abortion clinics are now armed and have increased defenses.

Frank Zappa on rating rock lyrics

Description: Kennedy School forum on rating lyrics. Woman speaks on a Senate hearing on the Parent Music Resource Center proposal, which says the record companies have a responsibility to identify recordings with explicit lyrics, and have the option to print the lyrics on the album covers. Frank Zappa speaks. He argues against the Senate hearing, especially advocating for the rights of those who wrote the lyrics. He quotes PMRC member, Tipper Gore. He recounts the Senate hearing. Throughout his comments, he pokes fun at those involved.

Kenmore Square and Brighton clubs

Description: Kenmore Square and Brighton night environs. Nightclubs, liquor stores, package stores, and bars: Rathskeller, Narcissus, Bunratty's. Cameramen and reporter talk in background. They discuss all of the Boston University students in the area and the use of positive identification to prevent underage drinking. Allston/Brighton police station. Two detectives are interviewed in the lobby of the station. They answer questions about the problems of underage drinking and fake identification. They give their opinion on the changes that will occur based on the newly raised drinking age.

Kevin Sullivan

Description: Mayoral election day in Lawrence. Interviews with Lawrence residents on who they think will and should win: incumbent John Buckely, or soon-to-be-winner Kevin Sullivan. Shots of Buckley and Sullivan campaign billboards. Campaign workers outside of Ward 6, Precinct 9 voting place, holding campaign signs covered in plastic, because it's raining. Buckely shows up at the voting place and thanks campaign workers and voters. David Williams interview Buckely on his experience. Williams also interviews Sullivan on his qualifications, and his misconstrued campaign advertisement, for which he was accused of racism. Video goes out in the middle of the interview, and then comes back. Buckely thanks campaign workers.

Description: Alan Dershowitz interviews Red Auerbach. They discuss his career in sports as a coach. They talk about basketball and it's national and international prominence. They talk about Auerbach's discovery of Bill Russell, and Russells' career, as well as many other Celtics players. Auerbach reviews some of his coaching techniques. Auerbach talks about his old-fashioned views, especially not having women in the locker rooms. He also talks about women both playing and watching basketball. He talks about K. C. Jones as a coach. Auerbach talks about his teaching a class for lawyers at Harvard. Reporters Christy George and Christopher Lydon also asks questions, often rephrased by Dershowitz for editing purposes.
