Cesar Chavez and Chiquita boycott

Description: Peaceful protest in front of Prudential Center in solidarity with United Farm Workers boycott of Chiquita bananas. Guitarist sings and plays “Glory, Glory Hallelujah (Battle Hymn of the Republic),” “This Land Is Your Land,” “We Shall Not Be Moved.” People march on Boylston Street with placards in Spanish and English. Picket signs “United Brands strikebreaker.” Cesar Chavez explains campaign to support UFW and inequity for lettuce pickers. Boycott is on bananas instead of lettuce because brand name is much more familiar though economic effect is on same corporate pocket. High panning shot of crowd.
